i like this new schedule of robin's. working weekends and a day and a half in the week. it allows us to be happy when we are together. before, we would drive to work together, work together (in the same room), have lunch together, drive home together, hang out together at home, go to sleep together, wake up together, and then drive to work together...

yesterday i came home, it was his afternoon off, so i wasn't surprised to find him napping. but when i went to give him a kiss on his forehead, he said 'i love you'. out of the blue. and then when i opened the fridge to grab a snack, i found a tupperware filled with cut strawberries, and cool whip and angel food cake. i also saw that there were husks of corn and yummy chirozo sausages and sweet potatoes. he made dinner for me last night and dessert.

and if you recall last week's post about being prickly with him last week, well, the reason was that i thought (and rightly so) that he didn't do enough work around the house. he told me today that he finally cleaned out the fridge! yay! the first time since we got married. he also did the dishes after dinner, and took out the garbage.

i do hope that the cleaning part lasts. and, next time i will come up with a surprise for him. can't wait. any suggestions? our one year anniversary is also coming up. not sure what we will do to celebrate it, and whether we will get presents for each other, since we are so broke these days.

emily's birthday today. last night, a couple of co-workers and i decorated her cube with all sorts of things, balloons, confetti, pink streamers. and stacy, our coworker, brought her a little crown and a wand. very cute! she was of course very, very surprised this morning, when she came in to work. her smile and happiness at seeing the pink cube was definitely a day brightener. happy birthday em.
