i was searching for sites with info on the numerous books out there by numerous desi writers, and here are a few of them. i think that i am craving reading these days. i used to be an avid reader...and then i got cable, the satanic distraction if ever there was one. bbc america, sundance, discovery, tlc, i know all their shows...ugh!!!
i am also craving a desire to be close to india for some reason, i go through this once a month at least...a feeling of wanting to know more about the country i came from, the culture of which i need to know so that i can teach my children (when i have them)...i think that is why i adore the bloggers of india,b/c they give me an insight into life there... not the world of my mom and dad's time, but today. the folks that watch the same movies as me, and sometimes before i do...the folks that have crushes, and possibly date, a thing that my parents tell me they (the people of india, all of them!!) don't do in india. through reading the blogs, i found that the people there have similar thoughts and worries, as i did at their age. the only difference that i can find, is that it seems that people are more likely to married, and at a younger age(by 24 or 25), while in the US, the people are still looking for their mate (i am talking of those older than 25).

i am craving to go to india. i don't think that it will happen this year though, and that makes me sad.

sinead, should you not have been shunned on oct 1992? if we had listened to you then, could we have helped to stop the abuse? unfortunately, i think that the faithful were too strong in their beliefs, and would not have wanted, or have been able, to see the possiblity of something so dreadful. but thank you for trying.
