i got about 3 hours of sleep last night, today is going to be tough...can i get through my 10 hour shift?

it's preetham's birthday today. yesterday his not-so-very-close-but have known-for a long time friend, called from a city in wisconsin, more than 2 hours away. at around 9:00p, to say that he needs a ride (it's pitch black outside!) back to mpls b/c his car is having problems. i don't know about you, but i would probably inconvenience friends after reviewing all the options, not before. apparently his car, which he put in the shop in that city, will be fixed and ready to be picked in 2 days. oh and he, his friend, is a student, so he doesn't really have a reason to get back w/in the 2 days, only to be driven back again...he didn't call his brothers, or his dad, he called preetham. i remember when friends used to take advantage of me all the time...for rides...and they knew that i would run and help, anytime...drive whereever. anyway, my advice to preetham was to have his friend stay at a hotel that night, and see if he still needs to be picked up in the morning, if yes, then pick him up, but more than likely he'll be okay with sticking out the 2 days at the city.
anyway, preeth will have learn to be tough, as i did, i suppose. i hate being tougher now, but i have to be, or i'll get pushed around as i used to.

shelle from postcard x sent me a postcard yesterday. i loved it. it was beautiful and a wonderful surprise. my first from that site. it does leave you with a great feeling, to not have bills and junk mail, but instead a little card, from a stranger, who only wants to wish you a hearty hello.
i am mailing out mine today to a couple people, as well as kiruba's fall card (sorry for the delay kiruba).

we're down. oh, boy, we're down. we've had a bit of a hardware mishap and i don't know when i can restore the community." - postcardx.
