trains

(a picture i took in NE minneapolis)

I love trains and train tracks. the beautiful shine from the track, and the way the lines seem so complicated in their intermingling.  We have the Lightrail now, or the underground trains, but the feel is still the same. The noise of quickly turning wheels, the sleekness of the long train, the noise of getting on the trains, followed by the silence after getting on. Oh and the stories behind all the people within the train themselves.

Where are they going? is it to a secret rendezvous? a new life? to the only good school 30 miles away?  Are there meetings that occur everyday which start a new connection between people?

(not my picture)
Oh i miss the trains in India. The people selling yummy hot coffee, walking up and down the train station. They sold food too, snacks like warm peanuts and murrukul.   My cousins tell me that they took hour long train rides to school while in high school...i can't see kids doing that these days. The young guys sitting on top of the trains. I remember when i was little i lost a little doll on the tracks and felt so bad; i also remember the noise and the chaos and feeling so small.

anyway here is a cool train quote:

"Life is like a train station, people come and go all the time, but the ones that wait for the train with you are the ones that are worth keeping in it. "
