i had my writing group last night. and although we did write for 10 minutes, the majority of the time was spent talking. i loved it. we talked of clothing and the workplace, how society places a requirement on who gets respect and who doesn't...what it's like to be someone of a different color and the fact that you have to dress even more formal to deserve the respect as someone not of color. we talked of why american men don't bond, and the idea that it is only topics of sports and while drinking beer that men generally feel comfortable in conversation...a generalism i know, but i wonder exactly how true it is.
