saw a movie called 'beautiful girls' last night, on dvd, with preetham. cute, sweet movie, and matt dillon, timothy hutton and david arquette looked pretty cute...i goes so did uma thurman. rosie was in it, and she was alright, if not a bit too 'rosie'. a movie about a small town guy who returns to his hometown for a reunion, specifically to get away from a girlfriend who wants to get married, and he, well, he is not ready to grow up. he returns home, only to find that most of his friends from home aren't ready either. and they are all 29, so they realize that they probably should at some point. and the 'beautiful girls' part? well, they realize that you don't have to have a model girlfriend, for her to be of value. that you should look for the 'good ones', the ones that are beautiful in their own way, and are 'good' people also.

i sent a letter to my cousin rathananna (rathan actually, and anna is big brother)...it was lovely to read his reply...if there is anything i regret about leaving india, and mind you, there are a quite a few reasons, the biggest reason, is that we have left some great people there, people that would have been wonderful to be friends with and be related to...:(...but, as the french say, i guess, c'est la vie...gotta make the most of the situation that is given to you.

gautham got into grad school, the kid that's the least academic, in the sense, that he doesn't really read alot of literature, or liked school very much...he got into grad school, he is a good student thought, he knew exactly what the teachers were going to test him on...good luck gautham!
