nikita has an amazing blog in which she speaks of things that interest me greatly. she writes well too. anyway, her entry yesterday was about "how various factors affect our lives, our productivity, our quality in everything we say or do." and specifically "the roadside-romeo types who like singing, the kids who like playing around u, using you as a pillar or some lifeless object to hide behind, flies, hot sun, polluted road with trucks whizzing by, autorickshaws that sometimes play loud music, and small shops selling cigarrettes and paan and attract equally bad customers" and "paan chewing" people, men staring, etc, all that she sees on the way to work. and me, i get ready, get in my car, get out of my car, and go into work. so comfortable. i think of it as a dull life, and she made the point, in response, that my dull life does allow 'living'.

'living' is what i can do,but...there are other prob's here as well...911 didn't help...for america, and for brown skinned americans(native american, african american, and other non-white, non-male, non-rich as well) ...fear of terrorists...and pre-911 and post-911 problems: getting into relationships and knowing that because the divorce rate is so high then the idea of divorce is not impossible...women are expected to be super moms, work and climb the ladder and be great moms, do the dishes, clean the clothes, clean the house, and still look pretty cause w/the divorce rate high we cannot 'let ourselves go'...women have to take care of their cars and yet need the men or the men have a low self esteem...but the 'dull life' is nice of course, we have cars, jobs, and it doesn't take very much money to have a decent house, to get decent education...oh my...

i do love and miss india so much for all the things that america does not have, and i do love america for all the things that are easier, more...and so i can 'live' as nikita says. isn't nikita a cool name by the way? and i love blogs, otherwise i would not meet interesing people and see the different worlds out there.
