i have to be assertive and professional...and say something not so nice today...ugh!!
i have to tell a musician that i talked to a about 2 weeks ago, who has not called me or returned my calls (turns out that he had the wrong number written down...but...)...a sax player, with an upright bass accompaniment...anyway, i have to tell him that his $300 is too much for an hour and a half...for we are going to use a celtic band for the greeting of the guests and the ceremony and they are charging $50 per hour. anyway, our budget is blown and it's getting more expensive that what we can afford, and this $300 is something that we can cut. it will be hard though to tell him because he works at the Loring Bar and they are closing, and now with the closing and the cancelling of the evening...ugh!!! i hate having to do this, but i know that it is the right thing to do...if i wuss out, i'll get mad at myself....ugh...can i do it?? i wish that someone else could tell him, someone who doesn't care about the Loring.
(by the way, the fact that the Loring is closing SUCKS!!! it is the only international, cosmopolitan place in the city, it is beautiful, the music is great and well...i loved their artichoke ramaken....i am going to miss it so!!)
