saturday evening, i went to an amazing book club. the book of the month was arundhati roy's god of small things. firstly, what an amazing book! course it took a second reading to realize that, after the shock from the first reading, i was able to be amazed by the writing style and inner works of the characters.

secondly, the folks in the book club were amazing! they were opinionated, smart, and wonderfully fun to listen to, as well as to talk with. but how could it have been bad, when the book of choice spoke of incest, the caste system, human relationships, the wonder of india, politics, the miseries found in life, and above all the 'small things' that make life wonderful.

listened to mpr this morning, after a long time since i had given up reading, listening, and wanting to know about current events;i had realized that it didn't matter if i knew or not, there is absolutely nothing i can do about it, and absolutely nothing that i like hearing or reading.

anyway, regarding the whole road map thing...it's a wonderful idea, and it would be great if anything worked, but do people really think that it will work? only time will tell probably.

wu wei. that is actually one of my most favorite phrases...yet it's meaning is still unclear, and it's a state of being that i have not fully mastered.

when i tried to check my hotmail, msn tried to tease me to read about the news. course the headlines were: is lara too skinny and what do ben and jen do in their spare time. i pity the fool that cares (sorry mr.t, for stealing your line).
