had a great w/e. fireworks were beautiful, and this year was even more fun b/c we had sparklers that we lit. i love sparklers, they always remind me of celebrating diwali (deepavali) in madras.



i love the fact that the fourth of july is celebrated. independence day. but isn't it crazy that it has joined the ranks of so many other holidays in that people no longer remember the reason behind the holiday but more the material aspects...i.e. firecrackers. although one should perhaps be happy every day about having freedom and of being an american, rather than just the one day i suppose.

robin's friend visited us and we all went out quite often during my time off (wednesday til today). lots of food, lots of alcohol and lots of laughs. we even saw a rockabillie band followed by a band playing strickly surfer music.

i hate that robin has to work w/e! our lives have changed so much since he started...we no longer see movies, or enjoy sleeping in...it's frustrating to only have wednesday together.
