i had a quick lunch with ben. i love our once a year lunches. he is a pretty cool guy, and there is definitely always something to talk about with him. i wonder if everyone has friendships like this...folks that they don't see or talk to often but the time spent is always so fun, and so relaxed, no problems, just interesting conversation and a mutual feeling of enjoying the other's company. (by the way, i asked hubs's permission to hang out with my old friend...all you single people probably think i am crazy to ask persmission....but in a marriage/long&close relationships, we all do crazy things)

hubs and i, after months and months of looking for a house...and many arguements and angry feelings at not seeing eye to eye on what's important in our next house...well, we finally found a house that we BOTH loved. we made an offer, more than the asking price and with an open close date. the seller went with the other offer.

apparently the lender of the other buyer works with the seller...or something or another. a b.s. reason to not choose us, if you ask me...but no one did...

anyway, back to the drawing board as they say.

gregory hines has died. it is strange actually...b/c i didn't know his work very well, and although i truly enjoyed watching him tap dance, i don't know exactly when or why he affected me. there was just something about him that reminds me of growing up maybe, or ... actually i am not sure...i am sure of the fact that 57 is too young to die.

i forgot to mention that i saw a production of the pride and prejudice last week, with hubs and sue ( and her mom, family friend, and suzette). a few of the actors stole the show, specifically richard iglewski's playing 'mr.collins' and the audience's favorite (barbara bryne) playing 'lady catherine de bourgh'. it's amazing how certain actors can stand out amidst a host of characters. the other actors played their parts well, in the sense that you felt that they truly represented the characters in the story...but the two mentioned actors, were funny, and with an air that made you smile and light up when they came on stage.

the guthrie is definitely a wonderful place to see a play actually. the theater is not very big and no matter your seat, you have a good view of the stage.

the play was of course a production of the story written by jane austen...a story that i had read many times, and had seen done in different movie versions...i would have been bored by the produciton, for the story is too well known by me, but actually it was done in a way that made watching it fun.
