"every patriarchal religious society must grapple with the pesky problem of female sexuality". the magdalene sisters, a "severe melodrama" of a movie, about being a female, and catholic in ireland, and wow....the last of the asylums used to put away 'pesky' females, closed in 1996.

on the one hand, it sounds intensely frustrating to watch, and on the other hand, i will see that it is not just the indian culture that judges it's youth too harshly for their temptations and actions. althought, i do wonder how the director is going to make this movie watch-able... is there hope? can the girls get out? is there sunshine at the end of the rain?

this weekend is busy with activities, at least for the rest of the city! i am hoping that i get to at least enjoy one.

one of the activities is called the fringe festival, it sounds very, very cool, but a bit expensive. what do i want? free? oh yes! i would love that!

there are also art fairs going on.

i really do like this city, even if i don't do any of these things, at least i have the option to!!! also, with robin working, i am not sure who to go with anyway!
