metafilter has a post on children being implanted with a chip so that they can be tracked if they are abducted. it sounds like a very harsh action to take to prevent losing a child by an abductor, but this appears to be the result of the multitude of kidnap cases shown on the media. i wonder if i would do this to my child.



what happens when they are 21, what use will that tracker be at that age and older? also, they say that they want to wait til the child is at least 11 or so b4 they put in the chip...if i were to do anything this drastic, i think that i would do it when they were much younger.



i don't think that i would do this, and the metafilter reader's comments scare me even more making me not even consider such a thing.
