children and money
robin and i are probably going to start giving out an allowance.

before my dad left to india, he gave the boys 50 dollars as christmas presents. each. wow.
the funny thing was that he gave sboy two 20's and a one 5 and five 5's but he gave mboy two 20's and one 10. oh boy. "'thathaya, why did you give sboy so much money??? i have only 3 and [sboy] has so much"! so then i had to get five 1's from my bag, took sboy's 5 away (of course he didn't see that) and each got $45 instead. obviously i will spend an extra $5 later for each kid.

i got tired of the same routine, they go to school, come home, hang out, eat dinner, etc. so yesterday i took sboy shopping so he can buy something with his xmas money. he bought himself a toy for 10 and then bought a similar one for mboy. he spent his own money on a present for his brother. i did ask him over and over, if that is truly what he wants to do, just to make sure, so he doesn't regret it. he did! i am so proud of him.
