one of the babies kicked last night. it was the cutest feeling...and it was sad that robin didn't get to feel it too.

pbro bought tickets for hubs and i,and himself of course, to go hear chuck d talk last night. chuck d, of course from public enemy.

he started the evening off mellow, talking about minnesota weather, and then boom...he got started. on any subject of interest. on various tangents at one time. what a talker. and yes an entertainer. we all liked, very much, the politics of what he was saying. the name of the talk was 'rap, race and reality', and those were the three categories, but he also talked about eminem and the rap artists of today, and rap vs. hip-hop...as well prez bush and what he is doing to the 'us' as well as the world, and the world's view of the 'us'. the importance of voting, and janet jackson, and why the lyrics of rap and hip-hop today are disgusting, and without any sign of intelligence, but just with a lot of fluff. it entertains you but leaves no lasting feeling. like a mcdonalds hamburger and fries, he says. if you reheat it is disgusting. but if you have instead your mom's cooking, you want eat it, save it , reheat it and it still tastes good.

hubs went slightly reluctantly, because he doesn't like rap at all, and because he didnt really know what to expect...what chuck d would have to say. but at the end of the show, hubs said that he loved it.

it felt good to attend something like this, something that got you thinking, and surrounded you with people that like to think.
