the academy awards. politically: wow. michael moore rocks, the man has guts. and mexico! the good looking man from 'y tu mama tambien' and Pedro Almodovar from "talk to her' both stood for peace in a war-troubled world. as did susan sarandon, who was less vocal, less than usual, and less than others during the oscars.

movie: i want to see 'the pianist' very much, and i do want to see so many of the others out there. i used to watch a movie every two weeks, but lately, i have not been seen many at all. the last movie was 'catch me if you can', which i loved. leonardo was perfect for the role, as was christopher walken and tom hanks, and the story, i thought, was very well done. see it!!

anyway, i want to see 'the hours' because i adore virginia woolf. i want to see 'the gangs of new york' b/c i adore daniel day lewis, and also b/c it looks amazing. i also want to see 'frida' b/c i admire selma hayek and also b/c i am very intrigued by frida kahlo and her eccentricities and her need to paint a picture in a way that some people just will not be able to understand or appreciate. i am also reluctantly wanting to see 'chicago', i am not really one for musicals, but the story does look quite good.
