okay. i have been bad. really bad. about writing in here. i was reminded of it from a kind woman far away. anita. thanks anita! you are right, i should document all that has been happening.

i'll start from 4/2 on. mom and dad came back. they brought the engagement ring with them (i had asked them to buy it there to save robin money). they would not show me the ring. but they did show me all the presents that my lovely family in india sent with them for my wedding presents. so wedding presents were given before the engagement. of course i was not officially engaged since robin was waiting for the ring to propose to me.

mom also brought back many things that are needed to be done, prior to the wedding in order to have a good wedding, and a good marriage. eat 2 sweets made out different grains, 2 per day, 2 wheat in one day, 2 rice in another day, 2 other wheat, i can't remember, in another day. i love sweets, but... oh and feed 2 wadas to a dog, and don't wear red, blue or black (my favorite colors to wear, my closet consists of only these colors and a couple of others!!); and various wedding products for the wedding were also brought from india, for the hindu ceremony.

(the hindu ceremony, originally it was to have been my immediate family, and aunty and uncle and robin's immediate family...all of us going to a kick butt temple in chicago. this changed to a decent temple in minneapolis. and lots and lots and lots of guests.)

anyway, it was stressful, me planning a wedding for may 25 (his move in date was going to be july 1, but turned out to be june 1, so i wanted to have a wedding soon, so that we would be married before he moved in)...but due to the minimal time...i stressed out big time in planning...have to get a place, have to get a place for ceremony and reception, food and beverages, music, photographer, videographer, cake, cards, bands, minister/officiant...so much to plan, although i knew that i wanted to get married at the conservatory. okay, they have an opening that day, i find out, but unfortunately it's at 8:30pm...so late...people will go home instead of driving to the restaurant...so must have the reception at the conservatory as well...now for food...so many caterers, who to choose, one will allow a cash bar, but charges so much, and the other has so-so food, and the other, well...actually they are not too bad, priced reasonably, food looks good, will go with them...next: officiant, someone charming to make the audience laugh, someone not religious who will say a god's name, looked around, found one on a website, called him. cake, wuollet, it has to be wuollet's, they make beautiful cakes, but it's kinda spendy. music...live band, or dj, i want to hear 'travis' and the 'beatles' and ' van morrison' and the 'cure' and 'sara mclauglin'...who can play all this? not a band!! but live music would rule!! dj's are okay, but there is really no dancing, just candles and flowers and food and beverages, so don't really need a dj. would love to have a kick butt stereo to play good music throughout the place, but a live band...after calling the guys i knew in good bands, i found a guy who books at the loring, who also plays a sax and he has a friend with an upright bass...bam!! that's it..

okay, now i just have to get engaged. i also have started asking people to keep that day open, to warn them..but i still wasn't engaged.

anyway, robin proposed on 4/7. it was so sweet, we had just woken up and were joking around as usual, so happy. and then all of a sudden he looked at me, i asked him what's wrong...then, he started to say very seriously, 'honey, you know that i love you", and i knowing what was coming, started giggling...making him stop cause he then he started giggling, but then he tried again, getting a little further this time, 'honey, you know i love you, and i want to be with you forever", giggled, stopped, started over, 'honey, you know i love you, and i want you to children with you and be with you forever" this time i tried really hard to not giggle, tried soooo hard...and then he did the whole thing 'honey, i love you, you are the cutest, the prettiest, the sweetest, and i would love to have children with you and to be with you forever. will you marry me?' and before i said yes, he showed me the ring. it was gorgeous (thank you dad and mom, for choosing such a beautiful ring!! ) and then we kissed, so hard. and then i said yes.

then i made the invitation cards, using the photos i took at the conservatory, took me three days to get it as i want it. done!

okay, that's it for now, i'll write more tomorrow.

by the way, i saw the show 'felicity' last night, i love that show...but only four more episodes til it ends forever, why do all of my fav shows end??? party of five, freaks and geeks, etc., :(
