saturday, 8a to 4p, robin and i had an 'expecting multiples' class. we learned of pre-term labor, what contractions feel like, breathing techniqes, vaginal vs. c-section, and other things. there was a family with twins that came in. they happened to have a problem that i am afraid of personally, and that is that, being that the babies were in one placenta and two sacs (like our babies-the result being identical twins)...there was a twin-to-twin-transfusion. "blood passes disproportionately from one baby to the other through connecting blood vessels within their shared placenta", thus one of the babies has a chance of dying due to a lack blood, and the other possibly would also die due to too much blood. in this case, of the family that we met, it resulted in one of the babies being bigger and stronger in health than the other. other than size, both of the babies were in good condition, luckily. i hope that ours do not have this problem, and if they happen to, i pray that it would turn out as well as the babies in the family that came in.

by the way, regarding the class, they also spoke of breast feeding techniques. and oh-my-goodness was that horribly embarrasing, and uncomfortable...mostly because the pictures they used as examples showed women that looked like playboy models, with big...very big...'bazookas'...and no stomachs whatsoever. naked. ugh. i couldn't even look at robin when those pictures came up...i swear if they didn't have babies or a pump attached to their breasts, it could easily have been pics in a nudie mag or covers of rock cds. it was kinda funny...i spose.

babies are kicking like crazy.

we're getting really concerned about the fact that i won't be working for a while, and we'll be overloaded with the current bills...and with two cribs, two strollers, two car seats, two carriers, and diapers upon diapers and whatever else we'll need. ugh!

when are we gonna win a lottery?
