"put songs on mommy"

So sboy, mboy and agirl love music. The best thing in the world is that they love good music, which of course is music that their mom and dad love. Wilco, avett brothers, Adele, flaming lips, Mumford and sons, Florence and the machine etc.,

But... They have other influences and honestly there is a reason why pop music artists make so much money, their songs are extremely catchy. Hot chilli Rae, Katy perry, Nikki minaj, train.

The issue could come up that they know non-pop music artists (actually, some of the artists in the first paragraph have gotten popular too haven't they?) and the other kids don't and at their very young age causing them to be not popular themselves. Is that important though for these kids to be liked and popular or is it a good foundation to teach that it is okay to be different?

At this point they do like both, the music that they sing along with the other kids, the songs that are on the radio all the time...and the music that they share with us. With the childhood I had where I was soooo different from the other kids, I do want them to have a connection with them and to be liked. I also love that they have their own loves, their own style.
