don't help anyone else, just worry about yourself

s-boy is sweet. he does not like schoolwork. he  also does not like doing certain chores/tasks. these three personality/character traits encourage him to help anyone and everyone else but himself when he is given a task to do. so if i ask him to do homework, and m-boy is also doing homework and a-girl is coloring...he will help a-girl to find a color in the color box if she needs it. if m-boy needs help on his homework, s-boy will help him. then m-boy finishes his homework, and s-boy is less than half done.

"don't help anyone else, just worry about yourself". it made sense for me to say that at the time...but really...doesn't that just sound awful?

i feel awful. i don't want him to be a 'i don't give a rat's ass about anyone else but myself" type of guy...there are too many people like that already. i just want him to get his homework done, to not get distracted so easily.
